Original cover made by Pintér for the novel "Women's Battalion" by Heinz G. Konsalik, published by Oscar Mondadori in 1983. Second World War, Eastern Front, between Peter Hesslich, chief marshal of the Wehrmacht, and Stella Antonovna, sniper of a special female unit of the Red Army, war requires that there be only hatred. Thrown into the midst of the relentless fire of weapons, their duty is to kill each other. Instead, they will love each other, despite the insurmountable contrasts and the ineluctable course of the conflict. They will love each other with the same violence that characterizes war, and, on its ruins, they will also manage to build a future, as fortune sometimes grants to heroes. Among the most complex and creative voices of 20th century graphics, Pintér has left a mark worldwide with his illustrations. His work is characterized by the Central European graphic-poster approach, his expressiveness is influenced by a very deep pictorial and artistic culture, with quotations and references that are sometimes explicit, sometimes underground and crossed. From his hand were born powerful and synthetic illustrations, stories in an image, now part of the collective imagination. The Mondadori covers are famous. Signed.
