Production drawing by Johnston (chief animator among the "Nine Old Men") for the masterpiece "Pinocchio", released in American theaters in 1940. This drawing is marked "model drawing", that is, one of the few production drawings selected to become a real model to follow for all the animators during the making of the film, in addition to this it was used as a "color guide" by the cel colorists, thanks to this drawing they could identify the areas on which to spread the different tempera pigments. All of Johnston's mastery is contained in this frame, among the most iconic and dramatic of the entire film: << Jimmy! Gee, I'm glad to see you! >>
