Original comic art made by Pratt for page 2 of "La fuga", the sixth episode of Ernie Pike, first published in Argentina in Hora Cero Mensual n. 6 of 1957. First published in Italy with the same title in Il Nuovo Sceriffo n. 81 of 1958. Inspired by the stories of the American war correspondent Ernie Pyle, who died at the end of the Second World War on a small island in the Pacific, while he was following the 77th US Infantry Division, Oesterheld and Pratt created the character of Ernie Pike in 1957 in Argentina, a man accustomed to the horrors of war, but not for this reason surrendered to his bloodthirsty idiocy.
