Preliminary cover created by Magnus in 1996 for "Il Conte Notte". In addition to the first (and only) four pages of the story, the Bolognese Maestro decided to give us, before his untimely death, his idea for the cover of what will be his unfinished masterpiece. Work published in the Glittering Images monograph on page 251 in 1997. << Rome is under siege, the plague dominates, the Vatican has been destroyed... almost a post-nuclear future. There is fighting around Rome, there are armies, but orgies are still held in the palaces and on an enormous tower there is the Pope's city. There is never day. Shadows everywhere...sparks of flint, which immediately go out... A dramatic, black cut. >> A museum piece.
