Original illustration made by Hergé for the column "Les propos du Major Wings", published for the first time in Le Journal de Tintin n. 2 on page 9 by Les Éditions du Lombard on 3 October 1946. For his Tintin newspaper, Hergé wanted to create a column in which he could delve deeper into one of the topics that had always been very dear to him, flying and aeroplanes; chose to title this column to Major Wings, a character who made his debut in 1946 in the pages of "The Mysterious Star" (L'Étoile mystérieuse), Tintin's adventure where Major Wings himself with his seaplane Aurora will save the unfortunate Tintin from sinking aerolite. Artwork reprinted more than 30 times in the Journal de Tintin until 1951. Attached is the certificate of authenticity issued by the Comité d'Authentication des oeuvres d'Hergé of the Studios Hergé with reference number 2016/92, signed by the director Magali Soubras and bearing the stamp dry. A museum artwork. Signed.
