Original illustration made by Moebius for the poem "Seduzione secondo Casanova" by Claudio Nobbio, published in double page by Edizioni Nuages in 1998. An iconic image in the entire production of Moebius, recently reprinted in the catalog of the exhibition "Moebius: alla ricerca del tempo" by Comicon Edizioni in 2021. Moebius, representing the legendary Venetian seducer, decided to pay homage to Federico Fellini's" Il Casanova "by giving him the features of Donald Sutherland; his relations with the Rimini filmmaker were very deep and of mutual esteem, Fellini wrote to him in one of his letters: << I like everything you do, I like your name too. In my film Casanova I called the old homeopathic doctor-herbalist half wizard half sorcerer, "Moebius". (...) What most amazes in your drawings is the light, especially in the black and white tables: a phosphoric, oxyhydrogen light, like a perpetual light, which comes from the solar limbs. >> Signed, dated and with the author's stamp on the back.
