In the 1970s, the English photographer David Hamilton gained significant fame, even beyond the circle of professionals, thanks to his distinctive style. This style allowed him to capture his favorite subjects—very young adolescent girls—placing them in an atmosphere of soft delicacy. A legend suggested that to achieve the effect that made his photographs resemble impressionist paintings, Hamilton would breathe on the front lens of the camera. In reality, using Minolta equipment, he employed the 85mm Varisoft lens, which produced that slightly blurred result. The extreme youth of his models sparked various controversies and even censorship, but Hamilton's intent was to capture the sensuality that lingers in the age of innocence.
