A leading member of Publifoto agency, Tino Petrelli made important reportages such as the one that shook public opinion in 1948. Traveling to the inland of the Calabrian Aspromonte, he documented the life in the village of Africo: the poverty and misery, the children sitting at school desks with bare feet andsmall braziers to warm themselves and the bedrooms shared with animals. Published in the weekly L'Europeo, the reportage put the South of Italy's issues in the spotlight.
