Although he was above all a great professional, having worked uninterruptedly for the Mondadori weekly 'Epoca' from 1953 until its closure in 1997, Mario De Biasi never abandoned that passionate free spirit that had driven him towards photography and that always characterised his style. While working on the shoots he was commissioned to produce, in fact, he always found time to carry out personal research, to gather ideas, to be attracted by curiosity. Thus, when faced with his photographs, there is little point in asking what they were taken for, because Mario De Biasi always retained his ability to create well-calibrated and admirably composed images.
