The painting, pendant to the one in the previous lot, is accompanied by an expertise by Dr. Maria Silvia Proni, dated 2 October 2004, and by Professor Ferdinando Arisi.
According to Arisi, the painting can be dated to 1710. The young woman protagonist of the scene is a model known within Cipper's pictorial corpus ; in fact, she is found identical and in the same pose in the large scene with Pollivendola and fisherman (see F. Arisi, G. F. Cipper "Il Todeschini" e la pittura di genere in "Arte Lombarda" 1978, n. 49, p. 117, fig. 12) and, in a different position and with a different dress, in the Mora Players with a Portarolo (formerly Bergamo, private collection).
