The painting is sold with by an expertise by Professor Mina Gregori, who proposed the present attribution.

Mina Gregori refers the canvas to the artist's maturity and dates it to the 1750s. He recognizes in the disturbing and tense atmosphere of the painting the hallucinatory fantasy typical of the Florentine artist, who with his bright and tormented visionary anticipates moods which will find expression only in the late eighteenth and early nineteenth centuries.
