He, in 1833, defined himself with the curious nickname - for which went down in the history of art - when he completed the frescoes in the dining room of the Camozzi Vertova castle in Costa Monticelli (Bergamo), and where on a road stone he signed "L.D.D. Nebbia" aware of having now characterized his production with these foggy winter landscapes.
Vittorio Caprara writes in the biographical entry of the Italians: "Deleidi's drawings did not reach a very high level of quality. The frescoes and above all the oil paintings were better, especially those executed in his mature age: these are to be considered among the most original works completed at that time in Bergamo, then one of the most important centers of artistic culture in Italy. Unfortunately, a certain tendency towards eclecticism makes Deleidi's speech fragmentary, which could have had wider resonance. Said by Locatelli in a bizarre mood, we do not know whether the painter had pupils or imitators" (V. Caprara, Deleidi, Luigi, in Dizionario Biografico degli Italiani, 1988, vol. 36).
He certainly fits into the tradition of Lombard landscape painting, like a Bison or a Canella, characterizing the soft snowy scenes with the swarm of extras that animate the landscape.
