Throwing knife.
Forged iron blade engraved on the front, traces of “smallpox” on the metal owing to rusting Local name: NgwoloKnife produced and also used by the neighbouring Togbo, Banja and Ngbandi groups.It was used both as a weapon and as an object with which to show off during tribal ceremonies. During combat, it was thrown horizontally at enemies. The blades, rotating like a circular cutter, became a terrible attacking weapon for whoever was unfortunate enough to be hit by one.It was also used as currency during business transactions and in marriage contracts.The refined incisions on the blade are characteristic of the weaponry of this group.
