Specialist Notes

The fashion for cup of large size and slanted shape at the top came from Vienna and Paris. They were painted with very elegant decorations and constituted unique pieces. Several such cups are preserved in the museum and warehouse of the Pitti Palace, Florence (for comparison see: L. Ginori Lisci, La porcellana di Doccia, 1963, tav. LXIX)
