Information

Piemonte
length 101,5 cm
Wide, curved, single-and short false-edged blade, with fuller on most of its length, featuring the well-marked "F.R." mark on the right side, near the tang. Some signs of use and pitting. Hilt with three, brass loop-guards, thick langets, "F.R." stamp on the main loop-guard. Long, smooth, brass cap, also marked "F.R." Leather-covered grip without wire binding. Solid, iron scabbard with stamps "59", "K" under star and with another not clearly legible mark. Two lugs. From the owner's research, the mark would correspond to "Francesco Ratis", first controller at the Santa Maria Maddalena factory after the restoration. Rare.
